Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. HENDRICK raced forwardly from the start, stood a drive gamely and outlasted BRIGHT IDEA in the final drive. BRIGHT IDEA was forced to race on the outside, closed with a rush and was wearing the winner down. ALLIANCE ran well until bothered. JONATHAN showed a good performance. Won driving; second and third the Fame. THUNDERING was rushed into a brief lead, saved ground all the way and finished under a vigorous ride at the end. BLUE MOON raced in closest pursuit throughout and made a determined bid at the eighth post, but tired in the final drive. WHISKALONG, well up throughout, came to the out-Bide at the stretch turn and sulked through the final eighth. ZUKER closed some ground and finished fast on the inside. TICK TOCK began slowly. POLO GROUND showed good early speed, but tired badly when put under pressure. OOWAH saved ground at the turn and ran well. BARION raced well for three-quarters. JESSAMINE began slowly. BIG BLAZE, a forward factor all the way, came again in the stretch and finished fast. WHETSTONE closed some ground. STANWIX tired badly from forcing the pace.
