BEG PARDON DISQUALIFIED Finishes First in Cleveland Main Race But Is Set Back Foul Riding Results in Bad Fall. CLEVELAND, Ohio, Sept 2G. A bad fall and disqualification marred the running of the feature race at Brooklyn Park today. Beg Pardon from the stable of J. J. Russell finished first in the race, but was disqualified for cutting sharply across the others at the first turn, causing Sunshot and Juanebar to fall. After questioning Jockey F. Moore, who had the mount on Beg Pardon, the stewards held a consultation which resulted in placing Perhaps first, Attilia second and Pearl Boots third. Moore was suspended for the remainder of the meeting. The accident took much of the interest out of the race as Beg Pardon and Perhaps were the only ones to escape interference and were ten lengths in front of the others for the remainder of the journey. Jockey E. Hileman, rider of Sun Shot, was rendered unconscious and was rushed to the city hospital, while J. Owens, who was astride Juanebar, escaped uninjured. Sun Shot suffered a deep gash on his thigh. B. Creech continued his success here, when Matinee Idol from his establishment came from behind and got up in the closing strides to defeat Chile, while Noon Glide lasted long enough to save the show position of the purse. Double Shot and Southern Pacific were easy winners, but Bantam and Joe Joe were forced to do their utmost to insure victory.
