PURE DEE began well and, following the leaders closely, wore down BROTHER JOHN in tho last sixteenth. The latter showed good speed from a fast beginning and held on fairly well. SPATS showed a good performance, but tired slightly in the last eighth. COYNE came with a good rush after a slow send-off. NAUGHTY NISBA began poorly, and closed a good gap. HONOR MAN finished well. BROKEN TOY, showing good, form, raced FAIR VISION into defeat before reaching the last eighth, but tired near the end and might have won if kent straight in the stretch. FAIR VISION tired after going a fast half. CONTRARY PRINCE closed a good gap. POINSETTIA raced forwardly. SPARKLE STAR tired.
