i I i i LATONIA NOTES LATONIA, Ky., Oct. 2. Jockey Cliff Jordan arrived with the August Belmont horses. Jockey D. Hum resumed riding today after serving a suspension of five days. Trainer Max Hirsch telegraphed here that he would ship Sarazen next Sunday and would arrive the following day. Jockey Walter Taylor cancelled his afternoons riding engagements on account of the sudden illness of Mrs. Taylor, who had to be removed to a Covington hospital. Starter William Hamilton sent the fields away today for the first time during the present meeting. William Snyder, who officiated during the first sixteen days, took Hamiltons place on the ground as one of the assistant starters. William H. Shelley, who served as presiding steward at the recent Omaha meeting, came up from his home in Louisville to spend a few days. He will officiate as racing secretary at the Lexington meeting, which opens November 11 and continues to November 22. Wise Counsellor, Ladkin and Epinard will be paraded with their jockeys and under colors cf their respective owners next Saturday. Their track appearance will be between the third and four races. Ladkin will be worked a mile and a quarter. The others will be given slow gallops.
