COYNE began slowly and was ridden wide, but came with a rush through the last eighth. SANDALWOOD ran a good race. FINDAY finished fast. SUAVE PRINCE tired badly. Won easily; second and third driving. BAALBEC showed the most speed from the start and, setting a fast early pace, led for the entire race and won easing up. THEO RED raced in closest and game pursuit and came across sharply in the stretch, forcing MAMOUD to be taken back at a critical moment and possibly holding second place by it. MAMOUD ran well, but was given a badly judged ride and suffered from interference. PLANTER closed a gap and began tiring in the last eighth. UP AND AT EM tired. THE COMPETITOR closed a big gap in t tie stretch. ESCAPADER was far back for most of the way, but finished fast. SNOW MAIDEN set the early pace and tired in the stretch.
