EMPIRE TURF NOTES I . YONKERS, N. Y., Oct 18. In future all races programmed at one mile will be increased to one mile and seventy yards at Empire City. This is to avoid crowding going to the first turn. Proparations have been completed to receive the Rancocas Stable which was shipped to Latonia. The horses in charge of trainer Hildreth are due here Monday. Both Sleepy Head and Modo were ordered withdrawn from the fifth race today, being ineligible according to the conditions which called for non-winners in 1924. Trainer George Odom protested to the stewards that Modo was a non-winner despite the fact that he galloped to a victory for a cup at the Police Games held at Jamaica last month.
