WINNING TWO-YEAR-OLDS f 5 Successful Juveniles of 19 2d Grouped Under Sires. Xlght Brigade Tops List "With Fifteen "Winners "Wrack anil Sir Martin Next In Order. i To the imported stallion Light Brigade K falls the honor of sending the largest number h of winning two-year-olds into the racing of ; 1S24. From January 1 to September 30, in- 1 elusive, Light Brigade is represented by x , fifteen winning two-year-olds, of which Pas s Seul is the best and largest money winner, while Oh Susanna, Kitty Pat and Rothermcl axe quite promising youngsters. Collectively, s the progeny cf Light Brigade won thirty-two races and 2,740. Wrack, another imported sire, is second g with thirteen winning juveniles to his credit I Single Foot is the star of the bakers dozen J that Wrack sent into our racing this year, J and a right good colt is the son of Virginia a L. that races for J. E. Griffiths. r Sir Martin, a product of J. E. Maddens j noted Hamburg Stud and the leading Ameri- j can money winner of 190S, is third on the J list with twelve winners. Young Martin and Star Lore being the most successful of this group. Spanish Prince H. and Sweep, each with eleven winners, are next in order. The latter has two good winners in Sweep Park and Little Visitor. j Sir John Johnson and Star Master are each represented by ten winners, none of which are considered more than useful. Sires with eight winners each include Jim Gaffney, Peter Pan, Runnymede and Seth. The fust mentioned has three good young- sters in Beatrice. Pedagogue and Gymkhana. There are quite a number of stallions with i seven Avinners each and here we find Hourless and Omar Khayyam, rivals of others days on the turf. Among the sires with six winners each is . the mighty Man o War, whose first progeny made their bow to the racing world this year. In the next group, stallions with five win- Tiers each, is Chicle, that sent to the races IL P. Whitneys crack filly Mother Goose, -which won the Futurity and is the leading money-winning two-year-old of the year. , In connection with the presentation of the sires of winning two-year-olds of 1924, it is pleasing to note among them the names of some of Americas most illustrious racers of recent times, such as Man o War, Hourless, " Omar Khayyam and Sun Briar, all noble creatures of the thoroughbred world and all virtually at the threshold of their stud careers, which it is hoped "will be as glorious and successful as were their days on the race tracks.
