CHILHOWEE PROGRESSING NEW ORLEANS, La., Dec. 12. Chilhowee, which was purchased for a big price by S. M. Newman and will race at the Fair Grounds in the name of the Chilhowee Stable, is going along in his galloping in splendid style, according to his trainer, It. Watts. The long rest he has had since his last race at Churchill Downs has given opportunity for his ailing heels to improve and he does not indicate any unwillingness to gallop at exercise. He will start training in earnest next week with a. view to his frequent starting during the Fair Grounds meeting and is regarded a. certain starter in the 5,000 New Orleans Handicap, barring a mishap.
