KNIGHTS BRIDGE, showing fine speed and beginning fast, set a great pace and, racing AL BOYD into defeat, held the lead gamely through the stretch and outstayed PIRATE GOLD. The latter dropped far back early and was ridden wide on most of the turns and tired near the end in a game finish. MIDWESTERN came fast at the end.
