MAD NELL lost all chance at the start, but worked her way up rapidly and was gaining through the stretch. NORFORD HONEY ran well. BILLY "GIBSON made up considerable ground. BLARNEY STONE raied closer up than usual and outgamed MELACIIRINO in the closing strides. MELACIIRINO ran a good race and stuck gamely to Ills task throughout. TANGERINE was in the best going throughout and, after looming up on the last turn, tired badly in the last quarter. COEUB DE LION tired in the stretch. CAVEAT EMPTOR was en the outside all the way and gained rapidly in the stretch, but tired in the final sixteenth. DICK TERPIN set a fast pace and tired.
