Won easily; second and third driving. SHASTA KIN*;, from an outside post position, began fast and. crossing over sharply, secured a good lead in the first eighth and kept it to the end. SAMARON began in a tangle, but raced in closest pursuit of the leader and gained steadily until in the final sixteenth, then tired. MAIMONIDES was knocked hack just after the start and finished gamely when free. HAPPY esiaped the early jam, but was decidedly outpaced. ALUORAK and MINNIE BOMBA were knocked out of all chance immediately after the start. DAN ARVI showed a good flight of speed in pacemaking, but gave way readily when caught. MONOPOLY came from far back and finished faat. VANDERBCRG began slowly, but raced up rapidly and was a close up contender when turning for home, but tired in the stretch. MARIE MAXIM worked her way up gradually and, finding an opening after entering the stretch, easily passed the leaders. BARHISKANE closed a gap and finished fast. KIRKWOOD made up much ground and was favored by the soft track. STAMP made several attempts to head the pacemakers and quit finally. EMMA WILLIAMS and WILD THOUGHTS raced each other into exhaustion in a half. The last three at the start had no chance. Scratched — 88CC0 Amackassin, 100; 88107 Lady Small, 108.
