TAKAWEKSA saved ground when possible and raced LADY CHILTON into defeat, but was tiring at the end. LADY CHILTON set a fast early pace, and came again at the finish. BUTTERCUP finished gamely in close quarters. SEA CREST ran well and finished dose up. HERBERT showed speed. NEREID began slowly. Won driving; second and third the same. GALATIA helped force the pace from the start and. closing fast and gamely when called upon, outstayed WILD GOOSE. The latter was a forward contender from the start, but tired after racing : into the lead. DREAM OF THE VALLEY was shuffled back after the start and was forced to race wide on the turns. Itegan slowly, but worked bis way up on the outside and finished fast on his own courage. NEPTUNE ! finished fast on the inside. POOR SPORT moved up with a rush at the eighth post, but tired finally.
