NORTHAMPTON PARK TODAY Everything Ready for Opening of Spring Meeting of Akron Racing Association. AKRON. O., April 21.— Everything is In readiness for the opening of, the spring meeting of the Akron Racing Association at Northampton Park tomorrow. There have been about three hundred head of horses stabled at the track for the past two weks and these were augmented on Monday by two special cars bearing the majority of horses that raced at the Huntington meeting and as a result stable room is at a premium dospde the fact that the management has recently erected two new barns with accommodations for eighty head. Seve"n well filled races are carded for opening day, the feature of which is the Inaugural Purse ,800 in value. Eight of the best thoroughbreds at the course are scheduled to face the starter in this race and an interesting contest is looked for. That there will be no dearth of riding material is assured by the fact that over 30 jockeys have made application to ride. All indications point to a banner meeting one of the best given in this territory and one that will be well governed with such capable men at the helm as Andrew G. Leeonard, and Joseph M. McGraw, judges. Sidney S. Bender will again act as racing secretary and associate judge, while William Harris whose good work at the barrier at Huntington created much favorable comment will officiate as starter. The first race is scheduled to go to the post at 2:15 p. m.
