1 | I HAVRE DE GRACE NOTES HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 21. W. L. S. Martin was an arrival at Pimlico coming direct from Miami. His strrng Includes among others, Valador and Gold Stick. Two horses were claimed out of the seventh race yesterday, W. R. Padgett taking the imported William Tell II., from Maj. F. W. White for ,000 while T. H. Cooper took Johnny Jewell for ,500. Up to date thirty-eight horses have changed hands via the claiming route at the Maryland meeting this spring, twenty-three at Bowie and fifteen at Havre de Grace. James Fitzsimmons wired Frank Herold that he was sending a division of the Belair ; Stud stable from Aqueduct to Pimlico. Fitz-Simmons will probably come to Maryland | himself some time during the Maryland j Jockey Clubs meeting. Clyde Phillips has arranged to ship the Greentree Stable horses from here to Belmont Park. They will leave for the Long Island track tomorrow. The two-year-old Navigator will be left in Maryland to fill his stake engagements here and at Pimlico. He is an eligible for the Aberdeen Stakes to be run at Havre de Grace. Dr. Carroll Mitchell unsexed Hughie, which is turned out at James Arthurs Farm in the Long Green Valley back of Timonium. E. Flynn has taken over the book of the apprentice P. Taulette under contract to the E. F. Whitney stable. J. B. Campbell, whose work as racing secretary at Miami came in for much praise, was a visitor at Havre de Grace today. H. G. Bedwells horses have been shipped from their owners farm at Laurel to Pimlico. B. E. Chapmans well bred mare Padua has foaled a handsome chestnut colt by Nutcracker at the Bowie course.
