Watts of the Swingalong Stable does not think that Chilhowee will be a starter until the Latonia meeting. It was on the Latonia track that most of his notable victories of last year were scored. The horse is rapidly recovering from his sickness that followed his race in the Cof-r froth Handicap at Tijuana. The J. K. L. Ross stable, in charge of Henry McDaniel, has departed for Toronto. A number of horses belonging to this estab-lishnvent that were left here will be sent to Douglas Park today, where they will be kept in training. Jockey P. Walls left with the Ross stable, but will return later and will ride Drowsy Waters in the Kentucky Lerby. Work on the Churchill Downs plant is now at its usual prc-Perby state. The most noticeable new improvements under way be-z ing a covering over the walk from the south end of the administration building to the paddock and the erection of an additional stand for boxes at the far end of the present clubhouse grandstand.
