Timeless who was made the medium of a heavy play in the closing even, was taken out of the seventh race by O. B. Akers for ,500. Tommy Queen, who is here in charge of the William A. Woolman horses, left foi New York tonight to confer with his employer regarding plans for a Canadian campaign. Ihe three-year-old Volante has been nominated in all of the Canadian stakes for which he is eligible. The stable recently purchased the contract on the apprentice rider Caiuso. A otai of 50,000 was placed on deposit with the clerk of the course by the halter men during the recent meeting at Havre de Grace ard over fifty horses changed hands via the claiming route during that meeting. Mo? timer Mahoney, the major domo in the muttiels department here, has closed with James McMillen to manage the mutuels at the new Thstledown track in Cleveland. Mr. McMillan is due here tomorrow to confer with Mr. Mahoney regarding machines and othe • matteis. The dates for Thistledown have been announced and will be from July 18 to August 8. There are more horses at Pimlico this spring than ever before. One hundred and thirty-five different owners are registered and with anything like favorable weather some real good sport should be witnessed.
