CHURCHILL DOWNS] Latest Turf Notes From Famous Kentucky Track LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 11. George Walker is still hopeful that Mark Master, the International Stables colt will be able to start in the Derby. The colt was worked a mile in 1 :47M at Douglas Park, Monday morning, and pulled up apparently in good condition. If it is decided to start Mark Master in the Derby, F. Coltiletti will co-re west to ride the colt. The International Stable has secured first call on apprentice Ij. Neal. Mose Goldblatt, acting for the Greentree Stable sold Cup o Tei, a three-year-old filly by Chicle — Safe Home, to L. T. Cooper, on private terms. The filly ran in the fourth race in the interest of her new owner. Trainer Johnnie Ferris announced th.it Brave Bob would not be a starter in the Derby. He had to let up on the colts training due to a coughing spell. C. Robirlson. A. Schuttinger, and R. Williams, have been granted jockey licenses. W. B. Finnegan and Roy Waldron have been granted licenses to train. Apprentice licenses have been granted irgil Moore, A. L. I Smith, and Arthur Mortensen. Moore is under contract to S. N. Holman ; Smith will ride for Spencer Washington, and Mortensen is under contract to W. G. Jennings. Jockey H. Thomas arrived Monday and reported to the stable of T. J. Pendergast, his contract employer. The boy will not resume riding until next week. J. O. Ktenc, who has been in New York for a week, returned to Louisville Sunday night. George Bull, secreary of the Saratoga Racing Association ; Thomas Ccstigan, Charles Therriot and James Fleming, were among the advance guard from New York today. Yesterdays arrivals from the East included John I. Day and G. R IUsley, well-known turf correspondents. James Rowe has sent word here that he would ship Wednesday and requested stabling room for six horses and advised that he might decide to bring more. Former Governor John M. Parker, of Louisiana ; Edward G. Schleider and Col. John P. Sullivan and his wife and daughter, will bo guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Bradley at their Idle Hour Farm this week and at the Derby. Messrs. Schleider and Sullivan are interested with Mr. Bradley in the ownership i of the New Orleans Fair Grounds.
