Won easily; second and third driving. FRIARS CARSE. a speedy filly, began well and, taking the lead quickly, increased her advantage in the home stretch and won in a canter. SHAMPOO ran well, but was tiring at the end. MISS THATCHER was driving to the limit at the end to outstay EARLY VOTE. The latter gained steadily from a slow beginning. CINDERETTA began very slowly. Won driving; second and third the same. FREDDEN ROCK, under restraint until in the last turn of the field, jumped well and his rider saved ground with him where possible, whicb enabled him to win the race. LORENZO moved up with a ru h when going to the eleventh jump and, taking the lead, had FREDDEN ROCK soundly beaten at the last jump, where he ran out and lost a couple of lengths, then came again and was wearing the winner down. ST. LAWRENCE jumped well and finished gamely. IRISH JIG raced under restraint for most of the race and was gaining on the leaders when going to the last jump, when he got tangled up with STOCKMAR and all but fell. Won handily: second and third driving. HARRY BAKER acted like a wild horse when going to the post, but set a good pace from soon after the start and outfinished MARCONI gamely. MARCONI began fast and, racing in closest pursuit all the way. was hard ridden all of the last eighth. MINTSTICK ran well and passed FIRST MATE in the last eighth. BIGHEART ran a good race and made a resolute finish. SCOTCH BROOM was outrun to the stretch i turn, wliere be slipped through next to the inside rail and finished fast. SIR RONALD finished well. REPLY was taken hack on the far turn and came very wide when entering the stretch. REDSTONE I ran well to the last eighth. WISE COUNSELLOR forced a rapid pace from the start and, racing SHUFFLE ALONG and CANDY KID into defeat in the first half mile, took a long lead and was only cantering at the end. SHUFFLE ALONG saved ground when entering the home stretch and finished gamely. SCORCHER dropped back in the first quarter and was brought wide when entering the home stretch and, finishing fast, woud have been second in a few more strides. CANDY KID tired badly. The latter came wide when entering the home stretch, but finished fast. DERONDA finished close np next the inside rail. BATONNIER tired badly in the last quarter.
