SUNCAR was close tip from the start and was in close quarters on the far turn when SKIRMISH crossed over, but saved ground where possible and outgamed SKIRMISH in the final drive, then pulled up sore. The latter moved up fast on the outside and, crossing over, caused a slight jam, but came to the best going when entering the stretch and finished well. KIT CARSON set the pace, but met with early interference, then finished gamely. YOUNG APRIL, shuffled back on the far turn, came on the outside when entering the stretch and tired near the end. ANTIQUARIAN ran well. WHITE WASH, hard ridden from the start, came fast through the stretch. JOHNNY CAMPBELL showed early speed, but was much used in chasing the winner and tired IPSWICH dwelt at the start.
