CHURCHILL DOWNS Latest Turf Notes From Famous Kentucky Track LOUISVILE, Ky., May 19. The G. F. Croissant stars, consisting of Kentucky Cardinal, Gibbons, Belle, Stanwix and Purity will be shipped to Cleveland to race at Maple Heights, according to trainer Mose Shapoff. The latter is not discouraged by Kentucky Cardinals defeat in the Derby and intimated that he would be willing to meet the winner at any distance from three-quarters up on a fast track. Kentucky Cardinal will be started in the Ohio State Derby to be run at Maple Heights. Wm. Zieglers horses, in charge of W. J. Speirs. will be shipped to Belmont Park next Thursday. Jockey C. Ponce, who rides for the stable, will go at the same time. Needle Gun was the only racer in the big string that succeeded in earning a purse. His victory came at Lexington. Our General, considered the star in the stable is said to be on the ailing list. Trainer Mose Shapoffs announcement that he was eager to race Kentucky Cardinal against any of the Derby starters, may result in a private sweepstakes of three being arranged with possibly a side wager of 0,000. The conditions will probably be. If the race is arranged, ,500 to enter and ,500 to start. The same conditions as in the Derby to govern in the matter of weights and distances. J. C. Milam, who bought Emancipation from Frederick Johnson, sold her at private terms to Kinney Pitt. Fred Musante and Charles Koerner moved their horses from Douglas Park to Churchill Downs Mark Master is again in training, but will not bo a starter until the Latonia meeting. Sun Spot has been sold privately by O. Torrell to A. B. Hancock. She will be transferred to the Claiborne stud and used for breeding. *
