TOPANGOS RETURN TO FORM » — Easily Defeats Best Field on Maple Heights Program. ♦ All Right Sir Also Scores an Easy Victory Over Opponents In Sixth Itace — Weather Good. CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 21.— Showing a return to his best form, W. R. Padgetts To-pango accounted for the fifth race, which attracted the best field at Maple Heights Park this afternoon. Fuo and Winnipeg divided the remainder of the purse. Blennerhassett set the pace, but was displaced by Topango after going half the trip and thereafter the latter held his opponents safe. Fuo challenged entering the stretch as did Winnepeg and Fuo proved the gamest in the final drive for second place. Blennerhassett quit badly during the last eighth. Knighthood, the favorite, retired after going the first half mile. Closing up with good courage in the stretch All Kight Sir scored an easy victory over Joe Patton in the sixth race. Red Seth the early leader, held the others safe at the end. Making the turns better today, Little Clair caught Melvina, the pacemaker, midway of the stretch in the concluding race and drew away to win easily from the fast finishing Sea Green. Another good crowd witnessed the sport and weather conditions were favorable. Close and exciting finishes resulted in the running of the majority of the remaining races. It was only after a hard drive that Freda IX earned the verdict from Go Through in the initial race. Earl Combs easily disposed of the others in the stretch. Miss Era-mert scored another victory for the W. S. Heaton stable when she annexed the second race rather handily from Stage Star after leading by a comfortable margin through the last half mile. It marked the fillys maiden success. Stage Star was in a bad way following the running of the race and will be on the shelf for some time. It was only after displaying his best speed that Bill Shaffer got up in the last few strides to beat Chloe D. in the thirrd race. Incidentally it marked the first victory for Bill Shaffer. Tight appeared the winner of the fourth race when entering the stretch. At this point Albert L. made his move and in the final drive got up to beat the pacemaker by a narrow margin. Esther Grindells chances were ruined when she was carried wide rounding the far turn. Mortimer .1. Mahoney, who will supervise the operation of the mutuels at Thistledown Park, was a visitor today. He inspected the beautiful new plant this morning and departed tonight for Toronto for the meeting at Woodbine Park.
