0,000 FOR SON OF JOHN H. H. Cotton Buys Crack Son of Sir John Johnson From D. W. Scott — Has Won One Race. LOUISVILLE, Ky.. May 21.— The crack colt Son of John, that has been showing splendid form this spring and which finished second in the Clark Handicap and third in the Kentucky Derby, has been sold by D. W. Scott to H. H. Cotton. The deal, which had been hanging fire, was consummated last night and the purchase price is said to be 0,000. Son of John was developed and trained by W. Perkins. There were many who regarded him as the best three-year-old and attribute his defeat in the Kentucky l erby to interference he suffered during the final eighth when forced into close quarters. He has shown ability to race on a fast or muddy track and should win frequently in tho H. H. Cotton colors. He is by Sir John Johnson — Water K. Son of John has started six times in all, won once and has earned a total of ,075.
