CHURCHILL DOWNS Latest Turf Notes From Famous Kentucky Track LOUISVILLE, Ky„ May 27. R, T. Watts has relinquished the horses he trained for H. S. Hart and the latter will train his own horsea. Lew Pope finished badly lamed after his start in the opening race. The horses comprising the racing string of J. O. and G. H. Keene were transferred this afternoon to Latonia. Other owners that shipped at the same time were J. O. Whitlow, A. G. Woodman. Ijon Johnson and others. Lady in Gold has been sent to I,oxington where she will be turned out until fall. Tho others in the Audley Farm Stable will be shipped to Latonia Friday morning. E. B. McLeans horses will be shipped to Iatonia Sunday. No announcement of a trainer to succeed John F. Schorr has yet been announced. The latter is still supervising the horses training. John Walters. Dan Lehan and E. L. Prit-chard will ship their stables to Latonia Thursday. A. J. Stallings. prominent banker of New Orleans and who served as one of the stewards at the Fair Grounds and also acted as treasurer of the A. B. Hade Memorial Fund, was among the arrivals and will remain for the remainder of the meeting. Starter Wm. Hamilton was taken suddenly ill before the first race and Wm. Snyder took his place at the barrier.
