| J : I ; I | , i j i WOODBINE TURF NOTES TORONTO, Ont., May 27. George "Wingfield, whose horses race In the nom de course of the Nevada Stock Farm, was a visitor at the Woobine track. Th- Wingfield horses are in good form this spring. At the conclusion of the Woodbin-i meeting they will be sent over to Thorncliffe and later on to Hamilton and Windsor. Senator Norris, of Maryland, came over from the States to take in a few days spoit at Woodbine. James Heffering is quite enthusiastic over the crop of yearlings he has at his place on the Kingston road. There are four, a filly by the Bureau stallion McNeil — Beauty Spot; a colt by Alasam, another Bureau stallion, from Mineola If., by Maintenon ; a filly by McN:il — Muskrat Iady, and a filly by Uoseleon — Gallant Foe, by Friar Rock. Mr. I lettering has six mares on his place and all w.re bred to Roseleon this spring. AWase, which carried his colors successfully on many occasions, has been retired and she, too, has been bred to Roseleon. The latter has covered ten outside mares this spring. James Milton, who will do the starting at the Thorncliffe meeting, wired that he would be here tomorrow. At the conclusion of ttv» Thorncliffe meeting Milton will leave f jr Chicago. Tommy Gorman, secretary of the Con-naught Park Jockey Club, is an arrival, ile is here in the interest of the Ottawa meeting, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday next. Jimmy Dew, the major domo of the mu-| tuel staff at the Thorncliffe grounds, got iii from Baltimore. Mr. Dew has charge of th. » department on all tracks in which Messrs. Ollara and Farrell are interested.
