Neb., June 8. — The clever saddle form shown by jockey V. Wallis was easily the outstalljin? feature of the racing this afternoon at Ak-Sar-Bcn field. The midget lad was astride of three winners which included Maynard I... , which accounted for the feature event of the day. This was carded as the fifth race over a distance of three-quarters. The handsome son of Hilarious and Paris Queen dominated the running from the start, but bore out badly in the stretch and, for a moment, it appeared as if he was doomed to meet with defeat. However, Wallis rode him hard after the field had straightened out for home, with the result that he came again and, at the end, won by a head from Gad, which in turn beat Queen Dess by a nose for second money. Bebe Flowers was installed the favorite in the opener, a dash of three-quarters, but her backers met with disappointment when the winner turned up in Anna- Chestnut, ridden by jockey Wallis, which led practically all the way to lead Glassful and Bebe Flowers to the wire. A clever ride on the part of jockey Holecko contributed much to the victory of Menage in the second race. He saved him close up to the leader, Move on Seth, and, when the latter tired, the lad quickly urged his mount to the fore to win by an open length. Move on Seth easily saved second place from Cal. Hapsburg. Jockey V. Wallis, the promising appren-; tice jockey, rode his second winner of the day when he piloted Stamp fn the third event to a somewhat easy victory over Por-j ter Ella and Olympian King. . *. -
