DOUBLE FOR JACK PRYCE | Saddles Two Winners for the Wilson-Salmon Stable * Plxola Takes Claiming Handirap, the Feature, While Buttercup Jteats Flapper i-irl in Fourth « MONTREAL. Ont., June 17— Jack Pryce saddled a pair of winners for the Wilson-Salmon stable when ha sent Buttercup and Pixola to the post this afternoon at Dlue Bonnets. Luttercups victory came with the running of the fourth race, while Pixola won the claiming handicap, the afternoons feature race. This was a dash of a mile and carried with it a purse of ,200. Pixola was ridden by R. Thompson, gradually improved bis position from a poor start and rounding the far turn moved up on the outside to take the lead at the top of the | home stretch. In the final drive he hung on I with great courage and at the end outlasted Setting Sun to win by a head. Ten Sixty, 1 the pacemaker, was a tiring third. A driving finish came with the running of the fourth race when Buttercup beat Flapper Girl by a neck. Log Fire was the one to make the early pace and led until well around the far turn where Buttercup moved up and took command. Hastings was forced to ride a determined finish to get Buttercup to last long enough to stall off Flapper Girl, which was gradually wearing the winner down. Kink was never prominent Flint was the winner in the fifth. Baker rushed him to the front entering the hack stretch and rated him in front under slight restraint until the final eighth, where he shook him up to stall off Jocose and Black Hackle. The latter tired at the end. and Jocose got up in the final strides to beat him by a neck for second place. Flints margin was a length and a half. An ordinary band of platers went to the post in the opening race, a dash of three-quarters and the winner turned up in Sledge, which beat Kxit by a length in a driving finish. Golden lied was third. Tamarind scored rather a lucky victory when he won the second race. He was away fastest of all when the start came and Claus-ner mad1 the most of his advantage. In the early running Balsam Lake was the one to force the pace and in a driving finish he was beaten by a length. Wedding Prince was third another length away. The latter left the post slowly and in a tangle. He closed a big gap and at the finish was wearing the leaders down. St. Quentin made a runaway of the third race. They wa-re sent away to a moving : tart and St. Quentin was quickest to begin and in the early stages drew away into a long lead which he retained the remaind- r of the way. At the finish lie was four lengths in front of the odds-on favorite Bullet Proof, which in turn boat Prudy by a length for si cond place «
