FINALE AT MOBILE MOBILE, Ala.. April .?. Mobile gave Its testimonial to racing this afternoon with an attendance that filled the entire half mile plant to capacity to witness the final days sport. Mayor Crawford had proclaimed the occasion a holiday and some of the more public spirited business men complied, and gave their employees opportunity to be at the track. Dark clouds gave way to brilliant sunshine before the opening race, and the remainder of the afternoon found the pleasant weather continuing, contributing to the enjoyment of the crowd. Track conditions were, if possible, worse than at any period of the present meeting, and stumbling and near-falls by the starters were frequent. Richard V.. ridden by T. Bonham, came to grief in the fourth race. The rider sustained injuries of a nature that made it necessary to take him to a local hospital. Neal, on Normana. also fell off his mount when he struck Richard V. Several close finishes materialized during the afternoon and favorites again accounted for the majority of the purses. Some ruled at the usual short prices. The meeting just terminated had many drawbacks against its success, but the talk of building a mile track continues. The only claim lodged during the meeting came when William McKlroy. represented by Simpleton, claimed Mary Maud Carr, at a cost of 00.
