The trio comprises the four-year-old Patrick Sarsfield. the three-year-old maiden Meller Day, and a fine looking two-year-old chestnut colt by Paicines — Chiswell. that has not been named. Mulholland also has a horse of his own. the four-year-old Royal Sweep. "Jack" Flannigan has turned over to "Jim" Moody the pair of two-year-olds belonging to T. K. Mueller, that he wintered at Douglas Park. The youngsters, which have not been named, are a chesnut filly by Tromp la Morte. and a bay filly by On Watch Hand Bell. J. C. Cahn. veteran turfman, has arrived from New Orleans. Mr. Cahn has the distinction of having owned a winner of the Kentucky Derby. Typhoon II.. carying his colors, won the race in 1897, in which be beat •Ornament, Dr. Catlett and other good horses. Jockey "Tommic" Murray is a recent arrival and is now busily engaged galloping the horses of the Audley Farm Stable. On Friday the Parkview Stables Derby hope. Rhinock. accompanied by Royal Omar, was sent three-quarters for the first time since the training season began. The son of Prince Pal went the half in :" 4 and the three-quarters in 1 :23Vs. Rocky Kane, J. E. Maddens Derby colt, was sent three-quarters in the same time made by Rhinock. He had Kast Side and Jarvis as work companions. K. C. Anthony was an arrival from New Orleans. He brought Cyclops. Kmissary and two other horses belonging to H. Massey. Georgie Arvin reached here this morning from Miami with a division of the stable of H. T. Archibald of Chicago. Jockey Matt Skyrm, who recently returned from Cuba with the T. K. Mueller stable, has gone to Cleveland for a brief visit with his parents. George Barnes announced that Gammer Gurton had foaled a nice looking colt by Whiskaway at Barnesdale Manor. The mare will be bred to United Verde. The work of schooling the two-year-olds to the barrier at Churchill Downs was begun Friday morning by "Jack" Hodgins, one of starter W. Hamiltons assistants. Quite a number of the baby racers were on hand to receive their first lessons in barrier deportment. Kakme. one of Edward Cebrians candidates for the Kentucky Oaks, went a half-mile easily in :." 5 Friday. J. J. Coughlins I .a lonia. Derby candidate. Hank Monk, created no little excitement during work hours Friday, when he ran away at top speed for a mile and a half. The horse, running wild, came dangerously near colliding with some other horses. Kric. a Kentucky Derby candidate, owned by W. H. Whitehouse. Cincinnati jeweler, arrived from New Orleans Friday afternoon. together with nine other horses that Kon Johnson is training. The Derby colt arrived in good condition and. having been cam- paigning all winter, is in an advanced stage I of preparation. 4
