Carlaris, sensation of the winter racing season, will be seen by Chicago racegoers during the coming summer, according to , word received by the Illinois Jockey Club yesterday from trainer F. IS. Kraft, who wired from Tijuana that the Coffroth winner would be entered in the American Derby, to be run at the Washington Park race coarse, Homewood. en July 10. Another outstanding entrant in the Derby is Pompey, cbampton juvenile of last year and future book favorite for the Kentucky Derby until Carlaris came on ike scene. Trainer W. II. Karrick, trainer of the extensive string of W. B. Coe. sent word from his training grounds at Long Island, N. Y.. that Pompey and two of the Coe fillies would be entered in the Chicago event. Itoycrofter, the Croissant colt that finished second to Carlaris in the Coffroth Handicap as well as in the Tijuana Derby, was entered in the American Derby a week ago i when Mr. Croissant nominated Kentucky !
