HAMILTON MEETING AT HAND Prospects Are Good for Excellent ExcellentSport Sport With Hamilton Derby DerbyFirst First Days Feature HAMILTON Ont June S Racing will be ushered in at the Hamilton track here tomorrow under the auspices of the Cana ¬ dian Racing Association the highest turf body on this side of the border and the meeting promises to be a banner one despite the fact that the local track will conflict with the lx ng Branch track another mile track operated in Toronto a neighboring city In former years Toronto sent big delegations to Hamilton to witness the run ¬ nings of the race programs offered here It is doubtful as to whether this same city will continue to do so with racing being conducted there but patrons of thorough ¬ breds who have witnessed the Canadian Racing Asociations racing in that city pre ¬ vious to the opening here will no doubt show their appreciation to the class of horses shown on their own stamping grounds of which most have been shipped here for the sevenday meeting Special racing trains have l een secured by the track management here to leave Toronto at various intervals Buffalo will also have its quota to send up as in former years yearsEvery Every part of the plant here has been thoroughly gone over and no details have been left undone to make this one of the best meetings of the circuit Steeplcchasing will be one of the features to be offered daily during the meeting meetingThe The Hamilton Jockey Club will serve up a brilliant card for its patrons tomorrow The outstanding attraction is the Hamilton Der ¬ by which will bring out the best array of threeyearolds racing on the Canadian cir ¬ cuit to traverse a mile and an eighth Those that have been named have undergone a special preparation for this race and the race itself should be one worthy of going miles to witness witnessOf Of those that have been named overnight Punjab from the R T Wilson stable will likely rule favorite This one was named for the Preakncss which was decided earlier in the year at Pimlico but went slightly amiss before the running and it was deemed advisable to let up on him He came back to competition with a winning performahce in hjs only start in Canada in which he defeated some of the best threeyearolds that could be mustered including Gaffsman the ace of the Canadianowned Seagram es ¬ tablishment which will be one of his strong ¬ est rivals in the Derby tomorrow In all them are seven named to start and the result is anxiously being awaited for forThe The remainder of the racos offered are well balanced and keen racing is in store for those that grace the beautiful plant of the Hamilton Jockey Club The races will start at 230 p in standard time
