Dick Welles Selections SelectionsAt At Aurora CHARLES WHITNEY MEDDLING SETII FLOY L1LL1E L1LL1EA A five ami a half furlongs sprint starts off the days proceedings at the Exposition Park track today and we are selecting CHARLES WHITNEY to be the victorious one This old timer is always racing win ¬ ter or summer but lie manages to pay his way He ran up against a little too stiff company for him in his last out and as a consequence was not able to land in the money In the race before that he led all the way to be winner by a head The opposition is not quite so classy here and we are expecting him to repeat his per ¬ formance of his race before last The near ¬ est thing to him in the race is MEDDLING SETH Rasing on his last race he is going to prove dangerous but if CHARLES runs one of his usual races dont think Jie will bother him too much FLOY LILLIE gets the call for the show on her last out outTHE THE HOYEL McDONOUGH MAYOR BEHRMAN BEHRMANThe The second number is called the Ottava Purse a fiveeighths sprint for twoyear olds with allowances THE HOVEL from the stable of Boots Durnell gets in with 103 pounds for reason of never having been the first to pass the winning line In his last out he carried 112 pounds and gave McDONOUGH a rare tussle just losing the decision by a head With n nine pound pull in the weights we are expecting the Durnell representative to turn the tables on McDONOUGH today It is not expected that THE HOVEL will have any easy time of downing the latter for he is in good trim at the present but the difference in weights should tell The failure MAYOR BEHRMAN does not seem to be good enough to win a race but should not have much difficulty in grabbing off the short end of the money moneyROCKET ROCKET ALBERT I VARIATION VARIATIONIn In the threequarters dash which is to be run as the third the twotime winner at this course ROCKET looks much the best play In both of his appearances h6 ran like a good one and in each instance led the way from the rise of the barrier to the finish line If he has retained that same form we cant see anything in the race that is apt to stop him from running his score to three in a row Todays race is a little longer than the distances he has been racing over here but that should not make any difference as he has goie this route before ALBERT L is given the call for the place on his last out which was a win He beat some ordinary ones over the mile route and does not compare with ROCKET for speed VARIATION may be the one to show if her two races here are a true indication of her form She landed second her last time out and third the time before that Either one of those races would be good enough for the show here hereSANOLA SANOLA JACK ALEXANDER RED HEART HEARTSome Some of the better grade of horses are to compete in the fourth event called the Kanesville Purse at five and a half fur ¬ longs under allowance conditions The race should see SANOLA redeem herself for the defeat she suffered at the hands of Red Heart last Saturday Had her rider made i his move a little sooner it is quite probable that she would not have been defeated then Be that as it may she should turn the trick today JACK ALEXANDER is in good form at the present and seems to be the one most liable to give SANOLA any trouble He was awin and a third to his credit here in his two races and in each case he had plenty of speed opposed to him RED HEART is not expected to race as he did Saturday It was not his usual race one that comes but once in a while However he may do for the show The real threat in the race should he be in racing mood is MAX BRICK He likes a distance race to show his best but he can also sprint at times timesPILLAGER PILLAGER PEGASUS COGWHEEL COGWHEELThe The Barrington Handicap at a mile is the intended feature and it should result in a good race PILLAGER ran his score to two last Saturday in the handicap race at a mile and seventy yards In doing so he created a new track record for the dis ¬ tance At the finish he was tiring from his efforts of setting all the pace and was lucky to hold on long enough to get the verdict The lesser distance of a mile should be better suited to him and for that reason we expect to see him home a handy winner again today It he sets the same kind of a pace today as he did Saturday there doesnt seem to be anything in the race that is apt to catch him The consistent PEGASUS has to be given the preference for the place on his races here In three starts he has been in the money each time getting a win in one of them COGWHEEL which ran second to PILLAGER last Sat ¬ urday is not expected to show as well today but may be the one to show The Durnell pair BOLTON and SMILING GUS may cause the others some trouble troubleMERCTJTIO MERCTJTIO SHINDY WILMER THE WIZARD WIZARDThrow Throw out that race run by MERCUTIO his last out It was not his distance Today he will be seen in the sixth which is over the mile and a sixteenth route and much better suited to the son of Friar Rock In his recent races he has been packing con ¬ siderably more weight than he carries today and that should also work to his advantage SHINDY has been started but twice since landing here and on each occasion it vas over the sprinting distances He too likes a longer distance and we are expecting him to show to much better advantage today over the longer route WILMER THE WIZ ¬ ARD may prove troublesome if he continues in the form he has showed in his most re ¬ cent races He came up from Columbus with two wins in a row in as many starts and then got the place in his only try here He is game and can always be counted on to give his best bestMISS MISS ROSEDALE CITIZEN MABEL SETH SETHThe The best play on the card is gleaned in the concluding race This trick is MISS ROSEDALE from the barn of J V Lewis In her last out she stepped the Exposition Course in fast time and at the end was drawing clear from her opponents to win in a canter That same race today should find her again home an easy winner over the longer distance of a mile CITIZEN has scored in his last two outs over the longer distances He can also show well at the shorter distances but dont think he will be able to match speed with MISS ROSE DALE The progeny of the sire Seth are a busy family they being seen on most any race course in the country The filly MA ¬ BEL SETH is entered here and appears to have a good chance of getting the show money GREEN WOODS is in trim at the present and she too may have some ¬ thing to say about the race One Best Bet MISS ROSEDALE in Seventh Race
