DEATH TAKES OLD TRAINER SPECIAL CABLEGRAM LONDON. England, April 5.— Herbert Lines, the veteran Newmarket trainer, died after a long illness. He was about fifty-five years old and had been training for almost twenty years, following a successful career as a rider. He saddled many winners, although none of his victories were of great importance. African Star. Angel Man, Wasp and Cornsheaf were about his best horces. He developed Old Taybridge. which finished second in the Crand National Steeplechase in 1925, and again last year, although he did not sadle the ill-fated jumper for the runnings. Lines also developed jockeys Arthur and William Balding. *
