STARS IN FA1RMOUNT DERBY E F Seagram Assures General GeneralManager Manager C Bruce Head Sir SirHarry Harry Will Be Starter COLLJNSVILLE 111 May 18 The sensa ¬ tional chestnut colt Sir Harry winner of the Coffroth Handicap and second to Bos tonian in the Preakness Stakes will be a starter in the Fairmount Derby to be run at Fairmount Park Saturday June 4 accord ¬ ing to assurances given J B Campbell rac ¬ ing secretary by owner E F Seagram in New York this week This advice was given C Bruce Head general manager in a letter from Mr Campbell in which it was stated aso that trainer James Rowe Sr had ad ¬ vised him that the Harry Payne Whitney colors would be carried in the Fairmount Derby by one perhaps two of the Whitney horses Six horses including Whiskery the winner of the Kentucky Derby have been nominated in the Fairmount Derby by Mr Whitney WhitneyFairmount Fairmount Park officials were Informed at Louisville that Chance Shot of the Wide ner Stable is sure to be one of the two or more starters to wear the Widener colors It was stated that Mr Widener has ex ¬ pressed a desire to duplicate his success of last year in which Haste defeated the Idle Hour Farm pair Bagenbaggage and Boot to Boot in the first running of the Fair mount Park Derby DerbySir Sir Harry and Chance Shot are two of the seasons outstanding threeyearolds named in the Fairmount Derby that were not eligible to the Kentucky Derby Every horse starting in the Churchill Downs race is an eligible in the Fairmount Derby and present indications are the best field ever in that race will line up before the barrier in the Fairmount Park feature
