FIRST EIGHT WINS EASILY Displays Liking for Muddy Track Trackat at Akron and Makes Show of ofOpponents Opponents in Best Race AKRON O May 18 V Clouds First Light made a show of her opponents in the Westhill Purse the sixth race which at ¬ tracted the best field at Northampton Park this afternoon She led by a safe margin at all stages Clairmonde Hope purchased at private sale by the Sun Flower Stable this t morning raced into second plade which he easily retained in the last half Beaverwood took third place as Swizzle the favorite ran wide all the way wayOver Over a track ankle deep in the mud the races were again decided Rain fell until about race time and during the running of the initial race a dense fog enveloped the course The attendance was surprisingly good despite the adverse conditions conditionsSilk Silk Sox led his opponents by a big margin until well into the stretch in the fifth race In the final stages however he was hard pressed to score a lucky victory over Grand ¬ son which began last San Hedron from a slow beginning held the others safe safeMoving Moving up fast on the outside of Earl Pool in the last sixteenth Lotto drew away into a clear lead in the last few yards of the cur ¬ tainraiser The race was run in a dense fog and when the horses came into view midway of the stretch Earl Pool was lead ¬ ing Little Romper downed the others for third place placeTaking Taking command at once Dean H showed the way for a comfortable margin through ¬ out in the following race Northern Star gained steadily in the stretch and outstayed Oil Lady for second place placeRoyal Royal Spring was hustled into the lead shortly after the start and after racing Ro tarian into early submission gamely with ¬ stood a bold challenge from Nero and Drum mond in the stretch run by a narrow margin marginAn An accident marred the running of the fourth race in which Padlock led through ¬ out to a decisive victory As the field was approaching the second turn Gee slipped through the inner rail into the center field and fell into the ditch with jockey N Wall The horse escaped injury but the boy suf ¬ fered a bad gash in his left temple and was removed unconscious to an Akron hospital Wall had ridden his maiden winner yester ¬ day and his second on Lotto in the first race today He is under contract to O Tuggle and is a native of Montreal Quebec
