WASHINGTON PARK MEETING MEETINGOutlook Outlook Exceedingly Bright for forHomewood Homewood Racing Beginning BeginningNext Next Wednesday June 1 While the daily pilgrimage to Aurora con ¬ tinues on faithfully Chicago devotees of racing are beginning to show an increasing interest in the approaching meeting at Home wood where the real Chicago season will be inaugurated next Wednesday when Wash ¬ ington Park throws open its gates under the auspices of the newly organized Illinois Jockey Club and under conditions most au ¬ spicious for glorious and successful racing racingThe The conservative but yet most generous stake and purse offerings have met with the approval of both horsemen and public alike assuring success for the association ade ¬ quate reward for the owners participating and some excellent entertainment for the patrons of the course courseWhatever Whatever doubt that may have existed as to quality and quantity of racing material being available for the meeting has bepn dispelled by the avalanche of requests for stabling with some of the most prominent turfment in the country being among those anxious to secure accommodations It is expected that it will be necessary for some owners to stable their horses at Lincoln Fields and van over any of the thoroughbreds that may be entered to start at Homewood HomewoodThe The arrangement of the running of the stake events should work to advantage as the more important ones do not conflict with any of the outstanding features run else ¬ where The opening feature on Wednesday June 1 is the Washington Handicap the Debutante Stakes will be run June 4 the Illinois Oaks June 11 the American Derby on June IS the Robert M Sweitzer Handi ¬ cap on June 25 and the Homewood Stakes on June 30 30S S W Grant the Chicago turfman will race at Washington Park and expects to carry off the American Derby with his crack colt Fred Jr The latter will be a starter in the Fairmount Derby at the Collinsville track and then be shipped here to Washington Park for Chicagos most famous race raceW W L Drake sent word Thursday that he would ship his stable of twelve horses to Washington Park from Churchill Downs on Saturday Broomster Bill Hare Hullo Coast Guard Emily and others will be in the shipment
