OWNER OF GLOAMING HERE NEW YORK N Y May 31 Among Mon ¬ days visitors was a distinguished New Zea ¬ land sportsman G D Greenwood who sails for England today on the Aquitania Mr Greenwood has had many good horses but he was best known to fame as the owner of the great gelding Gloaming which was to his home country what Exterminator was to us Gloaming started in sixtyseven races and won fiftyseven of them He was second in nine and was once thrown at the barrier The geldings winnings totaled 43100 or about 210000 Everybody who knows anything about racing in the Antipodean country has placed Gloaming on a pedestal pedestalMr Mr Greenwood was charmed with Belmont Park and had many compliments for the way racing is conducted here insofar as he could judge by his one day at the course He says he is coming back again to see some sport at the other courses in another year He had a long talk with Fraiik Coltiletti after that rider won the Metropolitan Stakes
