AURORA MEETING ENDS Claiming Race Program Furnishes Final Days Entertainment Prince Tii Tii Scores in Hollow HollowFashion Fashion in Fifth Race Feature Featureof of Card Fast Track Prevails AURORA 111 May 31 The Exposition Park Jockey Clubs spring meeting Qf thirty five days duration came to a close with the running of this afternoons program at the Aurora course The concluding days offer ¬ ing was witnessed by a fair crowd of fol ¬ lowers of the sport in these parts but the attendance was far from reaching the heights which it has attained on most of the other days of the now completed meeting meetingCloudy Cloudy and somewhat threatening weather was the rule for the au revior day but a fast track prevailed which helped consid ¬ erably and added to the calibre of the sport provided providedAn An all claiming card was arranged from which some fine racing and good contests resulttd the most important of which was the fifth race This was decided over one r iile and brought out eight good platers In it the first winning favorite of the afternoon scored when the Jones Stock Farm Stables Prince Tii Tii was winner in hollow fashion defeating Flag of Truce Margaret Gaut and the five others which started startedREWARDS REWARDS BACKERS BACKERSPrince Prince Tii Tii was heavily backed and gave his large following but few anxious mo ¬ ments these occuring in the early stages of the race when the erratic Tamale Dick raced into a long early lead on the back stretch stretchHowever However the pacemaker was soon through and thereafter Prince Tii Tii quickly passed him and taking command was never in serious danger of losing his lead to any one of his other opponents He got to the finish in easy style winner by four lengths Flag of Truce was always prominent and easily took second place Maragret Gaut which took the minor award had to close a big gap on the leaders in the stretch to be up in the first seventy yards to take third place placeW W R Padgetts stable continued on its winning way when the threeyearold filly Am I Early scored handily from a field of nine others over the threequarters of the introductory race The Derby Stables Lady Lura annexed second place decision from the tiring pacemaker Marvel Dolores in the last eighth Am I Early lacked support in the betting and her victory being a surprise was the occasion of handsome dividends being paid her few admirers admirersA A long post delay was experienced in the second race when Bathilde Seth and Strut Miss Lizzie acted badly at tfie barrier and showed a tendency to sulk Strut Miss Lizzie was finally calmed sufficiently to have her stand properly for the start but Bathilde Seth continued to act unbecom ¬ ingly with the result that when the barrier arose she turned sideways and was hope ¬ lessly left at the post postIn In the running of the race Ege a winner Monday again displayed her early speed and was in the lead to the stretch Nearing the last eighth she began tiring and Little Guinea challenging strongly at this point overtook her and then held The Abbot safe to the end for the purse The Abbot also coming up from the rear in the las quarter got up at the end for second place Sanc ¬ tion raced well throughout the race and finished third thirdANOTHER ANOTHER OUTSIDER SCORES SCORESAnother Another surprise occurred in the third race when the third straight outsider landed home winner This time it was Sunny Girl which caught the eye of the judges in advance of the others and scored an easy victory at the end of the five and a half furlongs dash She was a forward factor and raced in a con ¬ tending position all the way to the stretch where jockey Boganowski called on her for i final effort and she overtook the leaders in the last seventy yards and drew out easily at the end endHigh High Joy held on well throughout and took second place outstaying the remainder in the final drive Myrtle Belle one of the choices was away tardily but closed a big gap and got up at the end for third place Polycarp and Boomerang took part in a hard fight for the leadership to the stretch where both tired badly from their early efforts and quit almost to a walk in the last eighth eighthHawk Hawk Eye racing in good form scored from a good band of platers which started in the fourth race at a mile and seventy yards Bosh proved second best here and took second place while Up and Down held on well in the final stages and finished in third place Hawk Eye raced far out of it Continued cm eighteenth page AURORA MEETING ENDS Continued from first page and was many lengths in the rear to the stretch His rider released him from re ¬ straint then and he gradually wore down the leaders and got up in the last twenty yards to pass the leaders for the purse Worthman was the favorite and disappointed Erla Lee H took the measure of the ordi ¬ nary band of platers which made up the field in the sixth race at a mile and seventy yards Private Seth finished in second place a length and a half in advance of My Des ¬ tination which just got up in the stretch for third place Another long delay of ten min ¬ utes at the post occurred in this race when QYomping To Day acted badly and attempted to run away
