, JOLIET STABLE OF 1928 Eighteen Horses in Band to Be Raced By Packey McFarland in Kentucky and Illinois. LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 2-The .Toiiet Stable of Packey Mi-Farland. in charge of trainer Tommy Doyle, expects to cut quite a figure in Kentucky this spring, and later on the Chicago tracks. The stable com prises eighteen horses of which six are well b.eJ. two-year-olds. The etahi is headed by the Kentucky Derby candidate, Rumpelstilt-skin. which was imported from Germany as a yearling. This colt started five times last year, but did not succeed in getting in the money. The other horses include Hot Time, consistent son of High Time, which won six races, was three times second, and four times third last year, with earnings of ,476. Hot Time is a half brother to War Feathers, the prize yearling which Howard Oots bought at Saratoga two years ago for the interest of the late J. Hamilton Brady for 0,500. Others in the stable include Rib Grass, Blue Beans. Gold Boots. Infante, Freya, Captain Donan, Monastery, Bootsie, Far Over, Samaron, and Elfkin. The latter filly, liay in color, a daughter of McKinley, was bought at the Dixiana St- J srale for ,000. The two-year-olds are -jood lookers. Of the six, all but one are fiilies. They include Blewaway, brown filly, by Whiskaway — Blue Ball ; which was purchased at private saie from W. N. Parrish: Enola B., brown filly, by Upset— Whats That: Miss Lindy, bay filly, by Theo. Cook— Eva K. : Blac.. Velvet, black fi -, by Boniface — Violet Guide; Gunga Dhin. bay colt, by Champagne — Spendthrift ; and Zita McCarthy, chestnut filly, by Theo. Cook — Guion. The stable is wel". equipped with riders, the number including S. Griffin. J. D. Collins. W. Magner and J. and J. M. Dale. Griffin will do the bulk of the riding for the stable.
