1 • J. B PARTRIDGE S BIG STABLE LOUISVILLE. Ky., April 2.— J. B. Partridge, who recently arrived from New Orleans with his stable, will have a most useful and extensive establishment to campaign on the Kentucky tracks and later on in Chicago. His stable will comprise twenty-two head of horses, including quite a number of well-bred juveniles. The star of the establishment is the French-bred four-year-old Feu Follet, which Mr. Partridge purchased last fall from J. E. Widener. Feu Follet was one of the band that trainer Pete Coyne was training for Mr. Widener at Churchill Downs last spring, and he often used the French colt as a pacemaker to Osmand and Kiev when those colts were training for their Kentucky Derby engagements. Feu Follet performed well the past winter and reached the local track in excellent condition. He has been named for all of the big stakes at Churchill Downs and the Chicago tracks. Billy Cul- bertson is another highly regarded member of the Partridge band. He cost Partridge over 0,000 when E. R. Bradley consented to let the horse go. Mr. Partridge has been remarkably successful in his racing ventures during the past four years, and a short time ago he purchased a tract of 150 acres near Valley Lake, situated about thirty miles northwest of Chicago, on which place he intends eventually to establish a breeding farm. Mr. Partridge will run his horses hereafter in the name of the Valley Lake Stable.
