H. F. SINCLAIR DENIES SALE Rancocas Stable Owner Assures Newspapermen Report of Sale is False — Surprised at News. NEW YORK. N. Y.. April 2— "The horses have not been sold and they are not for sale," H. F. Sinclair today assured a representative of Daily Racing Form -. *« questioned about the report from Philadelphia that the powerful Rancocas Stable had passed into the control of James lrvin, a Philadelphia con ractor. "I do not know the man who is said to have purchased my stable." continued Mr. Sinclair. "And. furthermore, 12t, Hildreth, who is just recovering from an att.-ck of la grippe, does not know the man and was surprised at the news." News dispatches from Philadelphia told of the sale of the Rancocas Stable to lrvin. who was acting for himself and an unknown partner. The news of the sale created a furore at Belmont Park, but the majority refused to believe the story. The Rancocas Stable is at present at the farm at Jobstown, N. J., and will be shipped to Belmont Park on or about April 15 to campaign over the metropolitan tracks.
