April 24.— It would ° take a brave man indeed to place his finger h on the name of a colt and say "There is the c winner of the Dwyer Stakes." At this stage of the season no colt has a mortgage on r the 0,000 which this event will be worth I this year. All the best juveniles of 1927, j excepting neigh Count and Anita Peabody, are named for this race, which is run during the latter part of the Aqueduct meeting. The Dwyer is the first event for three-year- s olds of the year hereabouts which is a true a test of endurance. The distance is the regu- . in lar Derby course, one mile and a half. It has ninety-five eligibles. This is twenty ~ in excess of the nominations made last year.
