Winn, president of the American Turf Association and among the opening-day visitors, returned to Louisville, where he will further preparations for the coming Churchill Downs meeting. J. P. K. Willis has the platers Sweet Inver and Stormy on the grounds. W. M. Ingram has purchased, at private terms from C. H. Nuckols, the two-year-old Bather, a gelded son of Baigneur — Anna Ray. Al Smitha will train the youngster. Word was received Monday that R. P. Brooks will send G. J. Longs Derby candidate Braybant, and Miss L. Brooks Lorette Brooks, over from Churchill Downs for racing here. J. W. Parrish, owner of Rolled Stocking and other horses training at Churchill Downs, came over from his home in Midway for the Mondays sport. The filly Bottom Dollar, which T. Gerry and T. S. Scott of Lexington recently purchased from M. Goldblatt, will be bred to Wildair, instead of Peter Pan as was at first intended. Fluffy, owned by Harry Payne Whitney, will be retired from racing and sent to the Whitney farm, near here, to be bred. She is a three-year-old filly and has done little racing. B. S. Michell, trainer of Reigh Count and other horses owned by Mrs. John D. Hert» of Chicago, came from Louisville after completing the training of his racers this morning. He returned to the Falls City this evening. Starter Hamiltons schooling list includes Nedda, Red Grange, Golden Tinted, Master Sweep and Little Colonel. The latter was permitted to start out of the Jarvis-Wag-gouer gate for the opening race today. J. Mosby came in from Latonia with two two-year-olds. They are Miss Shanondale, owned by W. J. Mulvihill, and C. J. Noltes Mount Loga. The youngsters were amorg the horses that wintered at Latonia. Jockey Chick Lang, who probably will ride Reigh Count in the Kentucky Derby and other important stakes, came over from Louisville to fill several engagements. J. McPherson intends to dispose of the four-year-old filly Lucky Susan, a daughter of Wildair — Lucky R., which should make a useful stud matron. »
