She was t by Orsova, a half-sister to Douranee, which won eleven races, and is ihe dam » * P/ongola, i which was the dam of Gondolette, by Ferry — Sansovino, by Serenissima, and grandam of ] Tranquil — Celene, by Sickle. I Orsova came from Fenella, which was a I half-sister to the Goodwood Cup winner, ; Flagelet, and was by Monarque. ] Now for AVeissdorns racing career. As a two-year-old he won twice ove- five furlongs, 1 but in his next season he had seven wins to his credit. 1 These Avere over A-arious distances, and : were the Union Rennen 2,000 guineas over s one and three-eighths miles, at Hoppegarten ; 1 Deutsches St. Leger, one and three-quarters i miles, at Berlin ; Furstenberg-Rennen, one I and one-quarter miles, at Baden-Baden ; I Grosser Preis von Berlin, one and one-half miles, at Berlin ; Grosser Hansa-Preis, one and three-eighths miles, at Hamburg ; Preis von Koln, one and three-eighths miles, at ; Cologne, and Fels Rennen, one mile, at Hoppegarten. As a four-year-old he had another six wins against his name. Starting With a success in the Grosser Preis von Koln, one and three-eighths miles, at Coloi.j, he then took the Ulrich von Oertzen-Rennen, one and one-half miles ; the Ard-Patrick-Rennan ; the Chamant-Rennen, and the Hohenlohe Oehringen-Rennen at Hoppegarten, and after coming to this country he scored in the Rothschild Plate at Manchester, and was second in the Grosvenor Cup at Liverpool. Last season AVeissdorn earned brackets upon two occasions, winning the Select Stakes and the Grosvenor Cup, and finishing third in the Chesterfield Cup.
