The Waite starting gate will be in use beginning today for all mile and a quarter races and mile and a sixteenth starts, in addition to the present three-quarters starts. Only one gate will be employed and it will be transferred to the different starting points between races as necessity requires. So far, with the exception of the Incident in which some of the horses raced to a false start, due to the barrier being released when Touchstone kicked the lock, tho gate has given imminent satisfaction. Among the many horses which arrived over the week-end from other points is the stable trained by B. Mclntyre. which came from Exposition Park. Aurora. Trainer B. Mcln-tyre brought Tom Cagwin, Misty Day, Red Blaze, Meriwick, Dentess and Dark Angel to be raced for W. P. Hausman, and J. G. Denny, which races for J. Hart Brown. Jockey W. Smith was an addition to the jockey colony, the veteran rider making the transfer here from Aurora, along with the Mclntyre stable. Mode Nicolls horses, which came from Lexington, are in the care of trainer Phil Walton and include three two-year-olds, Jack Howe. Miss Fairmount and a youngster named John. WTild Bill is also with the Nicoll band. Mrs. R. Pollards horses also arrived from Exposition Park and the following were registered today : Prisoner, Gold Mint, Crispie Seth. Bunthorne, Black Darling, Broomoney, Kiheki, Cloudy S. Black Darling and Cloudy S. are two-year-olds, the former a winner of three races at Aurora. The G. F. Jenkins-V. H. Terry stable, trained by the latter, was an arrival from Hamilton, Ohio, where racing came to a close last Saturday. Jenkins and Perry brought three racers. Parole II., Reap and Houghtons Alibi. The latter is a two-year-old. Owner A. M. Jacobus came in from Aurora with Ticker and Marvel Dolores. The Alexander Pantages stable, which was here in charge of Eddie Taplin, departed for Arlington Park, along with other shipments to that point. The W. M. Cain horses arrived here from Aurora and were registered with the secretary by their owner. This band embraces Aviator, Lila G., Loyal H., Rosemary Laycock and several others. Jockey J. Parmelee came along with this stable and is now recovered from an injury received while at Exposition Park, Parmelee having his first mount here today since receiving an injury to his foot when kicked by Pat Field while astride a mount at the post in a race at Aurora. Itockslide was claimed from A. V. Thomas out of the sixth race Saturday by F. Hayes, represented by Cottage Boy, for ,000. Wright and Anderson also put in a claim for | Rockslide, Hayes getting the horse in the | draw.
