« _ . Tatonia turf motes t • $ LATONTA, Ky.. June 6. The horses Pot Hot. Webster and Kentucky Ace were excused from stalling by the stewards, prior to the opening of the racing. James T. Looney, Lexington owner, and Charles Keene II., of the same city, were visitors for the day. Jockey Eddie Ambrose reported ill and was granted permission to cancel the mount on Classy. Willie Carner, who will have the mount on Leo J. Harks Misstep in the American Derby at Arlington Park Saturday, expects to leave for the track Tuesday. The eleven horses in the stable trained by J. M. Goode came in from Louisville thia morning and W. A. Baumgartner vanned four racers from Hamilton, Ohio, yesterday. Hot Time, a candidate for Saturdays renewal of the Quickstep Handicap, ami Sam-aron, both owned by the Jolict Stab!-, arrived here this morning from Chicago. J. E. Thomas has taken over to train for J. J. Collins the two-year-old Sunday, formerly in the stable of W. E. Caskey, Jr. The horse Color Sergeant suffered a spread foot in his race yesterday and will be out of competition for a time. Jockey D. Dubois, who went down with the horse Kublai Khan after passing the finish in the last race Tuesday, reported himself fully recovered this morning and resumed riding. Declarations today came at a considerable cost , to horsemen, who , contributed a total of o5 in scratch fees, which swelled second : and third moneys in the second, fifth, sixth and seventh races. C. W. Hay, general manager of Washington I Park, came over from his home at Frankfort 1 and with Col. If. J. Winn departed tonight , for Chicago. They will make an j inspection of Washington Park and go over plans for numerous improvements to be made to that plant.
