OTTAWA, Out., June 0— Willis Sharpe Kilmers Sun Roman, a strapping big son of Sun Briaf — Rornagne, carried the colors of the Binghampton sportsman to an easy victory in the running of the Beaverdale Iurse, the main attraction for the cp ninp days program at Connaught Park, when he led nine other good ones over the three-eighths course in the third race to beat C. V. B. Cosfamans Pledge by six lengths for the main share of the spoils, while three lengths in the rear of the Cnshman starter came My Boy Friend, racing for Joe Edwards, to lead H. E. Browns Little Ercom and the other six starters. Ridden by EL Palumbo, the stable rider. Sun Roman began in the first flight and after Little Broom had shown the way until the turn out of the back stretch was made, the Kilmer eolorbearer was sent into the lead with a rush and, showing a marked fnni neaa for the goi;i.u, drew away apparently without effort through the linal stages and Palumbo was sitting perfectly still to have the Kilmer celt home the winner. Pledge had little trouble in holding second place from My Boy Friend, while the others finished in Indian file back l the ii;st three. Connaught Park opened its gates for the first summer meeting under poor conditions, but, despite the rain that fell unceasingly throughout the afternoon, a large crowd was out at the Aylmor plant and it was well repaid with some gor d racing. His excellency Lord WDHngdon came to the course, accompanied by Lady Willingdon, and both received much applause when they paraded to the vice-regal box. Traek conditions slowed up gradually during ihe course of the afternoon, but close finishes resulted in most of the races. Pandora, in the black and yellow silks of the Seagram Stable, emerged victorious in the running of the one mile and seventy yards fourth race, exclusively for province-breds, when under a drive she was able to CUt down the long lead opened up by Gale-pin Diamond and in the final drive to the finish took command at the eighth post to reach the finish, Lading the latter by a good length, while four lengths in the rear of the Lawsoa starter came Solidity. Tandora was made the favorite for this race and her victory was one of the most popular of the afternoon.
