FORTUNATE GIRL began fast from the oulside. showed much the most speed and raced into ■ long lead, winning in a canter. TOM NASH raced gamely in closest pursuit and always held the others safe. LADOGA began poorly and in close quarters, but closed a gap on the back stretch and, coming fast on the outside at the end, outfinished TOM McCUE. The latter raced well. PHEASANT began slowly and was crowded back while going the first three-eighths, then, gaining fast and having a clear course in the stretch, got up to win in the last stride. TEMPTER raced fot-vardly on the outside, finished well in a hard drive and outgamed ALEX WOODLIFFE. The latter forced the pace to the last eighth and took a brief lead, but failed to quite last to win. BODY GUARD showed the most early speed and set a good pace, but tired in the last sixteenth. The latter passed LLCKY DRIFT into the early lead and set a good pace, but could not withstand the rush of the winner. FAIR LARK was outpaced hi the first half m;le, but, gaining fast thereafter, closed a gap and just got up to outlast LUCKY DRIFT. SCAKI.LT BRIGADE began fast, showed the most speed at all stages and won easily. ROY GIBSON showed good speed, was passed by GEN. RICKY, but came again at the end and just got up to outstay the latter in the final strides. GEN. RICKY moved up fast in the first throe-oighths, but began tiring in the final drive and was bearing out badly nt the end. The latter began gaining fast after making the far turn and offered a strong challenge, but tired. SLY FOLLY made up much ground. YAKCEE set a gord pace for three-quarters, then tired.
