: , I TCHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES ยง LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 31. Thomas Nash, son of P. J. Nash, part owner of the Valley Lake Stable, returned here to witness the running- of the Baafcford Manor Stakes Thursday and in which the stables colors were carried by High Foot. George Collins, owner of Thistle Fyrn, this afternoon announced that upon advice of Edward Haughton, his trainer, the filly j would not be a starter in Saturdays renewal of the Kentucky Oaks. She was to be ship- I ped to Fairmount Park Thursday night. D. E. Stewart, who is in charge of the main division of the stable of J. N. Camden, will visit the latters Hartland Farm on Friday for the purpose of inspecting several horses turned out there. Al Hamel is making preparations to ship the horses of Howard Oots, Robert Smith and others to Latonia on Friday. Maurice Calvin came down from his home at Covington Thursday for the afternoon. He returned immediately after the races. Jockey Willie Pool, who was removed to a local hospital for treatment of the injuries received in his hard fall from Big Stuff in the second race Thursday, was reported greatly improved today. Mose Coldblatt departed for Cincinnati after making preparations for the shipping of his big stable to Latonia Saturday morning. J. J. Coughlins Karl Eitel and George Collins Thistle Fyrn. both intended starters in the renewal of the Fairmount Derby Saturday, last night were shipped to the Collins-ville track. Thistle Fyrn originally was shipped here for the purpose of filling her engagement in the Kentucky Oaks, but for some reason or another her owner and trainer, Edward Haughton decided to return her to the Illinois track and it is now unlikely that she will contest the Fairmount fixture.
