LIVE OAK IS DISQUALIFIED i Finishes Second in Raceland Handicap, But Is Set Back. ♦ Mi Vida Accounts for First Place — George W. Lofts Mabla Scores in Juvenile Race — Forger Second. • NEW YORK, N. Y., May 31.— The nearest approach to a feature for the racing at Belmont Park yesterday was the Raceland Handicap for horses that had performed among the platers. Unfortunately it was a miserable race and it also resulted in a disqualification when Live Oak, from the Rosedale Stable, after finishing second to T. M. Cas-sidys Mi Vida, was disqualified for a stretch foul and second place awarded Jefferson Livingstons Le Bey, with Mrs. A. L. Austins Sunny Saint moving into third place. It was another excessively hot afternoon, but a big crowd was out and after the brilliant sport of Decoration Day, there was naturally a letting down in the class of those engaged, but the sport was entertaining nevertheless. The Raceland Handicap was a miserable race for the reason that there was some back of the Cassidy colt that did not seem to make a real effort to win. This was especially true of Moon on George D. Wideners Arcturus, a gelding that had won his last two previous races. Moon had him under restraint back of the others until the stretch was reached for no good reason, and in the run home he made up some ground, but was last at the finish. Mi Vida was permitted to draw away into a good lead shortly after the start and, racing Live Oak and Le Bey into submission, he came away in the stretch to win by eight lengths. In the stretch Live Oak interfered with Sunny Saint and it was for that he was disqualified. The race run by Arcturus, in the light of his recent performances, was excusable, but it could be readily charged against Moon and the manner in which he took back in the early stages.
