HIGH DELL, following in closest pursuit of WASHINGTON CARRIE, was kept nnder pressure, secured racing room on the inside entering the home stretch and, closing with good courage, displaced the pacemaker and was going away siowly. WASHINGTON CARRIE moved into a commanding lead, showed good Sliced, but tired steadily during the final stages. SKID, ur.clile to keep pace early, closed gamely and outfinished PIOUS. FRENCH LASS, away quickly, forced a fast pace, shook off EVERYTIME when entering the stretch and withstood a drive in g;ime fashion and just lasted to stall off MUD. The latter w::s kept under mild pressure to keep within striking distance of the leaders in the early stages, moved up fast when called on and fought it out gamely. GLACIAL, slow to get going and far back eary, ______ fnst on the inside. EVERYTIME set a fast pace for three-eighths, but bore out on the turn and tired near the end. MART MALONE had early speed. STRONGIIEART, well placed, wore BUNTAR1S down, but was unable to match the winners rush. CAMPANINI. ra-ing well, came again after drepping back, but could not threaten the first two. The latter gained steadily when put to a drive, wore CORTIGAN STAR down gradually, but tired in the last eighth. CORTIGAN STAR raced under slight restraint in the early stages, saved ground, but tired when put to a drive. SWEEi EST SONG ran well. ALLEVIATOR closed a big gap. MILESTONE and _____ SATIN had early spiel.
